Creating a site for an organization dealing with children's issues offers a unique set of challenges. Most importantly is figuring out how to create a site that is clearly about children, but not necessarily for children - in other words, how to make it fun and approachable and yet educational and informative. On the homepage, I coupled a bright color palette with black-and-white images. The use of black-and-white provides a slightly more serious tone and helps to offset the bright accent colors, providing a more balanced overall look. The color blocking is repeated on the news and membership pages to provide cohesion throughout the site.
