My Story

Activism and progressive politics have been at my core from the beginning. From my early youth days of volunteering and spending a semester abroad in college studying socio-political issues in East Africa to later projects documenting the Muslim-American experience in post-9/11 America, the LGBTQ community in Texas, and the first surviving generation of children born with HIV, I have always been engaged in the community around me.

My online career began in graduate school where I studied photojournalism and what was then called multimedia presentation. I learned not only how to tell stories in images and text, but also how to use the web to combine photography, video, text, sound, and movement to engage viewers and tell captivating stories.

Since 2015, I have been able to combine my passions for storytelling, web development and activism – designing and developing websites and complete digital strategies for a wide array of non-profits and progressive candidates and campaigns. I develop on both the NationBuilder and WordPress platforms and am happy to discuss with you the benefits of each.
