American Justice Project is a newly formed nonprofit dedicated to advancing accountability and reform within Connecticut’s state and local governments, while seeking justice for those harmed by the system. Positioned as both a resource hub and an action center, the organization’s tagline is “Justice in the palm of your hands.”

In their design brief, they emphasized the importance of making their initialism, AJP, central to their identity. They also expressed interest in incorporating a torch or eternal flame as a symbol of justice. Merging these ideas, I hand-drew the letters AJP in the form of a flame, using a vivid red-to-orange gradient to evoke energy, passion, and urgency. This gradient is echoed in the word JUSTICE, reinforcing the organization’s mission and creating a cohesive, powerful visual identity.
