The Downtown Independent Democrats describe themselves as a club of independently minded Democrats in Lower Manhattan. They approached me seeking a logo that highlighted the three defining words of their name: Downtown, Independent, and Democrat. I designed a bold graphic of the quintessential downtown New York skyline, integrated into the three letters of their acronym, DID. At the center, the Statue of Liberty is placed within the “I,” distinguishing it from the other letters and symbolizing the group’s spirit of independence and commitment to democratic ideals.
