At the heart of the Refresh Britain project is one goal: get people engaged with their communities on the issue of clean air. To reflect this, the website was built with this clarity and simplicity in mind—each page intentionally crafted to educate visitors and encourage sign-ups, maintaining a clean, focused user experience throughout.
A Little Neighborly Competition Never Hurt
Using NationBuilder’s leaderboard page type — plus a little JavaScript magic — I transformed neighborhood pride into a friendly competition to see which region could rack up the most sign-ups. Each of the four constituent regions had its own dynamic leaderboard, updating in real time as supporters joined. The result? Engagement turned into a game everyone wanted to win.
