ZeroV

ZeroV, formerly the Kentucky Coalition Against Domestic Violence, is a statewide coalition dedicated to supporting survivors and educating the public on intimate partner violence. With a complete rebranding, including a organizational name change, ZeroV came to me for a bold new website to highlight their zero tolerance mission.

From KCADV to ZeroV

As KCADV rebranded to ZeroV, they brought me on to craft a bold new design that reflected their renewed identity and mission. Central to the visual narrative is the black scribble from their logo—a powerful symbol of emerging from the chaos of domestic violence—repeated throughout the site to reinforce their message of resilience and transformation. To underscore the fact that domestic violence touches everyone, regardless of race, age, gender, or sexual orientation, the homepage features a striking collage of diverse faces, with the individual portraits thoughtfully integrated into hero text across the site.

I designed an easy system for creating mixed font and color headlines. ZeroV has complete control over which words to emphasize in an attention-grabbing style – no coding required.

Using a straightforward tagging system, I enabled ZeroV to switch between two distinct banner styles — one with an image and one without. This flexibility is further enhanced by the word emphasis system, allowing for a wide variety of customizable hero text styles.

At the core of ZeroV is its support for victims of domestic abuse, centered around a network of vital shelters. Presenting this information clearly and accessibly was essential. Each card highlights inportant contact details and includes the shelter’s logo for quick recognition — empowering those in crisis to find help without hesitation.

It's All About the Details

It's All About the Details

For many experiencing domestic violence, seeking support can come with real personal risk. To prioritize safety, I designed the top navigation bar to remain fixed at all times, providing constant access to essential features. A quick-exit button redirects users to the Google homepage, offering an immediate way to leave the site if needed. The emergency hotline is also prominently displayed, ensuring help is always within reach.

Our organization was in the process of rebranding, and we wanted a website that reflected our strength and trustworthiness while providing accessibility to important information. After previewing Alison's work with similar social change organizations, it was clear her skills and expertise would be a perfect fit for us. Given the sensitive nature of our domestic violence work and the timing of our rebrand, our key priorities for the new website were to make it cutting-edge for professionals, engaging for supporters, and easy to navigate for survivors and community members of all electronic literacy levels.

Alison’s design not only met these needs and aligned with the launch of our rebrand but also allowed for future expansion as our organization grows its online presence. Her willingness to bring our ideas for new interactive pages and features to life has been invaluable. I cannot thank Alison enough for her craftsmanship in creating our new website and continued support even after its launch. Her creativity and ongoing assistance truly demonstrate her commitment to her clients. With her help, we now have a website that we’re proud of, one that expands our reach to communities in ways we never thought possible.
